SOMA is a six-storey concrete multi-family development featuring 32 high-end, one-to three-bedroom residences, two levels of underground parking, private balconies and rooftop patios. Protruding aluminium sunshades stand out in contrast with the dark masonry facade and present themselves as the marquee feature of the building. As a LEED Gold certified project, every home at SOMA has exceptional indoor air quality, temperature regulation, and an array of sustainability features that contribute to a positive environmental impact.

To accelerate the building schedule, Kindred mobilised certain trades months earlier than expected, allowing the finishing trades to commence work ahead of schedule. Rather than giving each finishing trade a full floor to work on as originally planned, the project team requested that all trades on site work on the same floor concurrently. Although an atypical practice, this scheduling solution saved precious weeks from the schedule.
