420 Downie Street

Description

420 Downie Street is a collaborative affordable housing initiative between BC Housing, the City of Revelstoke, and the Revelstoke Community Housing Society. The four-storey, wood-frame development will deliver much-needed housing to Revelstoke, British Columbia, helping address the community’s ongoing housing shortage.

The project includes a mix of studio to two-bedroom rental homes,15 standalone three-bedroom townhouses, one CRU space, and one level of underground parking. In total, it will provide 166 units, along with shared amenities such as communal gardens and an on-site childcare facility, creating a welcoming, community-oriented environment for residents.

With 111,681 square feet of residential living space, the development plays a meaningful role in strengthening Revelstoke’s housing landscape. The use of BIM modelling and clash detection to coordinate precast foundations with wood framing and mechanical, plumbing, and electrical systems, will improve efficiency and accelerate construction to bring this critical housing to market sooner.
